Sunday - Trip 1

Today we have had an adventurous day! This morning we went canoeing, or swimming in our case. Most of the people in our group were more excited about capsizing than actually rowing around and learning new things.

We all got into our partners and Richard (our instructor), showed us how to safely climb into the canoes. Once we were all out on the water, we were trying to work out how to turn etc. When we were called into the middle, Richard and Mr. Summerhayes demonstrated how to turn on the spot.

Further into the activity, after many people capsizing, we played a ball game; this lead to many falling-ins!

After lunch, we went for a walk. We started at Plas C Centre and followed the track round, this lead us through fields and trees, not mentioning the prickles which bordered the footpath.

Throughout the journey, we learnt many new things, such as the difference between ‘bracken’ and ‘fern’.

In the evening, all the groups joined up and we took a trip to Barmouth Beach. On here, we treated ourselves with ice creams while playing mini sports games on the beach! These games consisted of: Football, Volleyball, Cricket and Tennis. Some people were even trying to make the biggest hole!
